Children
better off with married parents Letter
by Roger Eldridge, Chairman of The National Men's Council
of Ireland
The aim of this prospective study is to examine the
short and longer-term effects of five key types of childcare
on children's development between birth and the first
year at school. The study will focus on the complex
relationship between parental care (involvement, sensitivity
and interaction with other carers) and non-parental
care (type, quality and quantity), in influencing children's
development. The characteristics of the different forms
of care will be examined in detail. The study will also
explore the processes whereby parents' attitudes, aspirations
and personal circumstances, together with childcare
availability, ultimately result in different childcare
patterns.
Britain's
Moral Wasteland by Melanie Phillips [Read]
The full extent of the disaster caused by the government's
teenage pregnancy strategy is only now becoming apparent.
Figures released under the Freedom of Information Act
have revealed that more than 1000 girls' aged 14 had
abortions last year...
Not only did Britain's abortion rate reach a record
level in 2003, but the highest increase occurred among
teenagers, the most vulnerable of all. The toll of damaged
lives and compromised emotional and physical health
among young people is hard to over-estimate.

Co-operation and use of your material

If I may introduce myself.
My name is Roger Eldridge and I am
Chairman of the National Men's Council of Ireland.
Like yourselves we are engaged in the
defence of marriage and the family against strong forces in
the state and especially the media.
We are in operation only three years. We
represent father’s organisations from around the country who
believe that marriage is the best arrangement for bringing up
children and is essential for the common good.
In Ireland we have a very strongly worded
Constitution, which pledges the state to protect marriage and
defend it from attack.
Unfortunately almost all our members have
found to their cost that the reverse is true. The state is
actively engaged in supporting wives to desert their husbands
and promoting unregistered procreation through its social
welfare policies.
We have devoted the majority of pour time
over the past three years in researching the actual legal
position of marriage and husbands and wives in Ireland with
surprising results. The fruits of that initial research, the
Preliminary Report on the Family and Marriage in Ireland in
2003 is available on our website at www.family-men.com
We are in the process of compiling a
comprehensive reference library of important documents and
links to collaborative organisations to augment our own
findings.
I only recently discovered your
organisation's website but I am very pleased and honoured to
find such allies in the battle that we face to return society
to decency and common sense.
Your material is immensely powerful and
deserves as wide an airing as possible. I would like to have
your permission to reproduce some of your material on our site
and give a link to your site so readers can find out more
about you and your work.
Initially I would like to put up the
three excellent articles:
"Conjugal Happiness" and the
American Way: On the Special Relationship Between Marriage and
the America Experience - May 19, 2004

Please let me know asap if we have your
permission to reproduce these articles and a link to your
site. We would of course give the usual acknowledgements and a
link to the specific urls. Please let us know if you require
specific text in the acknowledgement.
It is hard to describe the sense of
comfort that it gives me to discover an organisation with the
obvious professionalism, wisdom and compassion that your site
conveys. I am a committed Christian myself although the NMCI
caters for members of all religions and none.
I truly thank God for leading me to your
site and I pray that our organisation can in some small way
attempt to emulate the work he has prompted you to do.
We produce an informal e-zine called
"Family Matters" and would be proud to have you on
our e-mailing list if you required it. We would of course be
delighted to receive any materials you can offer us.
God bless you all

Summary: Parents
overwhelmingly believe that children do best when they are
cared for by a parent, and social science findings
consistently support that idea. However, day care advocates
continue to suppress these facts due to business

Why
We Must Privilege and Burden the Traditional Marriage Bond
Dr. Allan C. Carlson, Ph.D. April 18, 2003:
Summary: The legal status of marriage, and any
benefits that it confers, should be restricted to the
monogamous bonds of women to men; simply and precisely because
this is where children come from. The health and good order of
our communities and nation depend on these strong marriages.

On the Special Relationship Between
Marriage and the America Experience –
May 19, 2004
Summary: Alongside
affirmation of the integrity and worth of the individual, the
American nation has also been a land uniquely defined by its
commitment to marriage, understood as the bond of man and
woman for procreation and the rearing of their children.
Because of this heritage, modern attempts to debase the
institution of marriage can only put the nation's political
order in grave danger. by: Dr. Allan C. Carlson, Ph. D.

JOHN PAUL II: ANGELUS Feast of the Holy
Family
Sunday, 28 December 2003
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
……In our day a misunderstood sense of
rights sometimes troubles the very nature of the family
institution and of the conjugal bond. People who believe in
the importance of the family based on marriage should join
forces at all levels. The family is a human and divine reality
that should be defended and promoted as a fundamental social
good. ….
The Pope Calls All Christians to Join in Defence and
Promotion of Traditional Family
VATICAN, January 5, 2004 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Pope John
Paul II called on Christians, and "who believe in the
importance of the family based on marriage" to "join
forces at all levels" in order to defend and promote the
family as a "fundamental social good."
Speaking on the first Sunday after Christmas, the
commemoration of the "Holy Family" of Jesus, Mary
and Joseph, the Pope explained that the family "is a
human and divine reality." He warned that." In our
day a misunderstood sense of rights sometimes troubles the
very nature of the family institution and of the conjugal
bond."
"We must proclaim the Gospel of the family with joy
and courage," said the Pope. He reminded Christians of
their duty to "promote the values of marriage and the
family, both by the example of their own lives and by
cooperation with other men and women of good will".....JOHN
PAUL II

In case anyone has missed the announcement or is concerned
by the media spin that is inevitably being put on the
Vatican's recent considerations I publish the full address
below.
This is the most family-positive declaration received in
the past twenty years and one that will make anyone rejoice
who cares for the good of our children and their future
society.
This document firmly re-establishes the issuance and
welfare of children as the central raisin d'etre for marriage
and therefore the good of society depends upon its
uncompromising support.
As such many of the considerations clearly apply to
children who are being forced to live without the love, care
and guidance of one of their parents by the corruption and
ineptness of the family law systems here in Ireland and around
the world.
This clear message finally gives legitimacy to everyone who
has argued that any government or social policy is an abuse of
children that does not actively promote the sanctity of
marriage between a man and a woman, or which allows systems to
develop, legal or social, whereby marriages can be easily torn
asunder and a father or mother prevented from carrying out
their parental duties.

CONSIDERATIONS REGARDING PROPOSALS TO GIVE LEGAL
RECOGNITION TO UNIONS BETWEEN HOMOSEXUAL PERSONS
INTRODUCTION
1. In recent years, various questions relating to
homosexuality have been addressed with some frequency by Pope
John Paul II and by the relevant Dicasteries of the Holy
See.(1) Homosexuality is a troubling moral and social
phenomenon, even in those countries where it does not present
significant legal issues.....

HUSBANDS
AND WIVES
by Ray C. Stedman
Be subject to one another
out of reverence for Christ. {Eph 5:21 RSV}
Here is the divine solution to the problem of
conflict between individuals, those areas of friction where
life is rubbed raw, and the ugly sores of violence and
conflict often erupt. The solution consists of the recognition
of two very powerful and transforming factors which, if
recognized in any situation of conflict and carried out, will
resolve that conflict. In our previous message we tried to
challenge ourselves to take this very seriously.

A
Human Story about the Effects of Feminism
Whiplash
vs. Trueheart:
The Politics of
Melodrama
by Ray C. Stedman
The plot was simple: Snidely Whiplash versus
Tom Trueheart for the love of Tess. Tess was young and
desirable, torn between Whiplash and Trueheart. It's a theme
that's been played out before and since, but it took
definitive shape in the American melodrama. Melodramas are not
as popular as they once were, but you can still find them at
your local dinner playhouse. And over at your local NOW
headquarters.
A
Christmas Message To All Men:
by Roger Eldridge
A recent
contributor to these lists discussed once more the problem
that has beset anyone trying to organise men to reverse the
effects of radical feminism. However once again the author
focused his attack on criticizing men basically for not
being women and copying their non-stop efforts to seek
government aid and play the victim.
